Macadamia nuts

King of Nuts

Macadamia nut (also known as “Hawaiian nuts”), is a high-nutritional nut used for producing advanced foods, supplements, cooking oil and cosmetics. It is one of the highest valued nuts in the world. Macadamia nuts are rich in omega 3, omega 6, omega 7, protein, calcium, phosphorus, iron, vitamin B1 and B2, as well as eight kinds of essential amino acids. Eating macadamia nut helps reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases. The nutritional and healthy food made from macadamia nuts are very suitable for middle-to-old age populations.

Currently, the total plantation area of macadamia nuts in the world is approximately 425,000 acres. Macadamia nuts are primarily grown in Australia, South Africa, America, Kenya and China. According to a plan released by the Yunnan Provincial Forestry Department in China, the land suitable for growing macadamia nuts in the province of Yunnan reaches approximately 1.7 million acres. Yunnan Province aims to build a raw macadamia nut cultivation base with an estimated area of 660,000 acres by 2020, with an estimated annual output of 1 million tons of shell fruits, resulting in a macadamia nut cultivation base that will become the largest in the world.

According to Australian Nut Association, the global demand for macadamia nuts as a snack exceeds 500,000 tons, while the global annual supply for nuts is only 45,000 tons. For shell fruit, the annual demand is approximately 1.8 million tons, while the current annual supply of shell fruit is only 140,000 tons. HH Biotech’s macadamia business will fill the large gap between the global supply and demand of both macadamia nuts and shell fruits.
